It’s a week or two later than you’d expect, and it may be almost a trite question, but … what were your favorite books from 2008?
I posted my favorite books in 2008 (along with my least favorite) back in December. But here are the highlights:

CARRIE'S FAVORITE CLASSIC READ IN 2008
I enjoyed reading Jane Eyre, by Charlotte Bronte, with the 5 Minutes for Books Classics Book Club. My review of Jane Eyre was done as a Reader's Diary and was the second of such diaries.
MOST INTERESTING NON-CHRISTIAN BOOK ON RELIGION:
The Year of Living Biblically, by A. J. Jacobs.
MOST INTERESTING NON-FICTION CHRISTIAN WORK:
The Discipline of Spiritual Discernment, by Tim Challies.

Hi Carrie,
I'm not sure if The Mysterious Benedict Society is a book I'd personally go for, but I certainly love the cover (I know, bad boy for judging a book by its cover! :o)). That said your passion for this Stewart duo (soon to be trio) of novels is bordering on infectious, so I wouldn't surprise myself if I do end up at least checking out the first one sometime in 2009 :o)

I just read another review of 'the year of living biblically' last week and it looks interesting. And speaking of covers -- its cover makes me smile.
I have got to read that last one. Jane Eyre would have been one of my faves from 2007 -- it's one of my faves of all time. I've not heard of the Benedict mysteries -- sounds interesting!!

I have heard The Year Of Living Biblically was good, but I have not read it yet myself.
The Mysterious Benedict Society is on my to-read list. One more reason to get around to it soon.

After seeing your rave review of the Mysterious Benedict Society, I've put it near the top of my Books To Find list. Jane Eyre is a favorite of mine, although Mrs. Rochester still scares the living crap out of me.
Lol, I wasn't quite so, um, attentive to the books I read in '08. All I know is, there were quite a few. Like, TONS! My post is here, & yes, there's only one. Call me slacker. =P
