Booking Through Thursday

This week's Booking Through Thursday asks the following question. Here is my answer:

So … any Reading Resolutions? Say, specific books you plan to read? A plan to read more ____? Anything at all?

Name me at least ONE thing you’re looking forward to reading this year!

L. M. Montgomery Reading ChallengeWell, primarily I'm starting the year off with a L.M. Montgomery Challenge which just got started. (If you want to join in, here's the link up page. That's probably the thing I am most excited about right off the bat.

I know that I know that I know that I also really want to read the following books this year:

1. The Invention of Hugo Cabret

2. Lucy Maud Montgomery: The Gift of Wings
(Which is definitely going to be unconnected to the L.M. Montgomery Reading Challenge but I still want to read it very badly!!!

3. The Third Book in the Mysterious Benedict Society series. And no, I don't think it's going to be released. At least, I haven't heard anything about it. But I still wish to read it! ;)

What about you?

I am simply on a quest to teach my children virtues from the books we read. I'm not sure what I'll be reading, but it will all be in a search for the best books!

My most interesting pursuit of knowledge for myself is taking me to the intersection of religion and evolution.

The Invention of Hugo Cabret looks fascinating.

For my part, I think my main goal is to read the essays and read from the Cambridge list. If I accomplish that, I'll feel pretty successful.

I got The Invention of Hugo Cabret for Christmas and can't wait to read it. The illustrations are fantastic.

I am currently reading
Hard Times by Dickens

next on the the agenda is a chick flick type book my non-Christian neighbor shared with me - I want to encourage our friendship.

I need to reread/scan Uncle Tom's Cabin for book club.

I have a lot of books to read but on my list of things I want to read for me are:

Acedia and Me by Kathleen Norris
Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen
Several of Louisa May Alcott's books (not sure where I will start).
and I am sure there are more but at the moment those are high on my list

I don't have any book resolutions per se -- just TBR stacks. :-) During Katrina's challenges I often make plans to read a classic or a non-fiction book I've been meaning to get around to. Otherwise I just keeping adding to my TBR stack, often from recommendations I see on blogs.
