Hosted by Susanne Living to Tell the Story, this is a meme I want to participate in to remind me to keep looking for the silver linings around clouds, and to take joy in the "little things" of life.
I have to confess, this week I need to spend a little time focusing on the "little things" because it has been somewhat frusterating and anxious here. But since that is not the point of the post, let me redirect myself.
1. The most exciting thing for me this week was lauching a new website and setting a new goal for myself to read through the entire children's picture book section at our library (from A to Z, by author).
The reason I am excited about it is because it gives ME a challenge and it also ensures that I WILL be making the time to focus on my oldest when my youngest decides to make his appearance. Plus, it's a fun goal that Jonathan has been very much in support of.
2. My friend sent me this video clip, oh, sometime back. I think I posted it before. At any rate, this week the line about God 'not wasting a single hurt that we endure' was particularly healthy for me to hear!
3. I had a night out with another friend of mine. She's a big fan of Indian food and I've always avoided it, thinking it would be too spicy. However, I had this lamb and butter-y dish that was fantastic and now I want to eat nothing BUT Indian food. Delicious!
Good food + good conversation = a nice break in the week!
(Thank you, Jonathan.)
4. A trip to the pumpkin patch! But instead of showing you a picture of Bookworm1 with the pumpkins, check out this shot that Jonathan got of Bookworm coming down a really cool slide:
5. My friends, who are moving and down to the wire to find a new home, found one! It's a typical answer to prayer - coming at the last minute and exactly when you need it.
He has made everything beautiful in its time. . . Ecc. 3:11A good reminder for us all!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Blessings,
Carrie

What a great goal to read through the picture books! Good for you that you tried new food and were rewarded for it. I'm slow to branch out with new foods....
The slide shot is incredible. Wow! Love it.
What a fun goal! That pic is so cool!
Wow. That is one fantastic photo -- I thought it was a logo or some cool graphic! I really liked your #3, that you got to try a food you weren't sure about and found something to love. Hope your weekend is less frustrating and full of good things.
What a fun goal! And a cool picture of your son on the slide!
Such a cool picture!!
And maybe I need to give Indian food another try - I have shared your original opinion.
We will lots of good reviews coming out of your read through the library adventure - looking forward to them!
love and prayers,
Kathie
That's a big goal! But a fun one!
That picture is so cool! Just amazing.
Lunch out with a friend is always good -- yay for husbands who support their wives having occasional times with friends. My new daughter-in-law is Indian, and I have to say I haven't found any Indian food I really like yet. A lot of it is pretty spicy, but some isn't. I haven't hadf anything lamb and buttery, though -- will have to look up that one!
That is one amazing photo!
Now that is an awesome goal. What a fun time you and your child will have with that one.
That slide shot is awesome!
I have to confess I have never eaten Indian food either. I'll have to give it a good try although I don't think there is an Indian restaurant here in town. Ethopian, Saigonese, Greek, but no Indian. I'll have to go to the big city for that I guess.
looks like you had a good week.
Oh I love indian food and that lamb in a buttery sauce is really yummy.
I also love the scripture.
What a fun goal! I have a question -- what if some books are checked out? Are you getting a list, or just reading what's on the shelf? Inquiring minds want to know...
Even though my girls are older, I have 2 great-newphews I'm always picking up books for, plus a friend's daughter, who is younger than my kids. Recent find: the Runt Farm books by Amanda Lorenzo. Probably for ages 6 to 10, with great drawings, and a message of tolerance and love. It's not humans, it's animals (duck, cat, mice, rabbit, etc.) who collectively create a family. Kids will relate to Kitten's rebellion, how others overcome their fears and foibles, and crying jags.
