Last week was kind of a hard one but this one, even though we were all sick with colds, was a breeze! So many little joyful moments in our household. Peace is a lovely thing and I've learned to be grateful for it! Time to just BE. So here are five things that I've enjoyed this week. First I've listed the thing I'm grateful with and the song that I think most suits the point (because we're big on music around here:)
1. Another night out with two "girlfriends" of mine. Someone else made the meal (hurray!) and I tried something new (which was yummy.) Then I came home and swapped out with Jonathan who also had a chance to break away and do something he really enjoyed.
To my dinner friends:
2. I'm happy about seasons of change! I appreciate friendships that can breathe, stuff that comes and stuff that goes. If life was always the same all the time, day after day, we would all grow bored and weary and would not have the opportunity to mature and grow. The 'seasons' that we go through in life highlight faith and show its weaknesses and its strengths. I'm thankful for seasons in which God graciously changes me (even though it's sometimes painful.)
"I will offer thanks for what has been and what's to come..."
3. The beauty of the outdoors! I'm grateful for a reminder that this world is full of beauty (/things that reflect God's beauty!) The more we work in our yard, the more excited I am by things that reflect beauty. Green and blue cathedrals.
4. Anticipation! Or, if you will, dreams! And the adventures they take you on! (And exclamation points!)
"I know. I can't help flying up on the wings of anticipation. It's as glorious as soaring through a sunset... almost pays for the thud."(Do you know who said that? Only the most glorious of Montgomery's literary creations! ;)
That's definitely how I feel. I love dreaming and anticipating what's coming.
5. The future. Tomorrow is the third anniversary of the day that significantly changed our lives. It was the first day that death touched us as a couple and it rocked our world. Since that time, death has visited us a few times, just to keep it fresh in our memories. But even through it all, we've learned that God is faithful, faithful, faithful. He has always known our story- how it would play out and how it will end. So I'm excited to see what He has in mind for our future - whatever it might look like. (It's that whole anticipation thing again.)
Grateful that My Redeemer is Faithful and True,
Carrie

Hi Carrie, After several weeks in 'busyland', I'm hoping to get around to visit everyone from FFF. We can be thankful together that 'our Redeemer liveth'! I enjoyed reading your FFF and seeing how you relate every day and every event to the Redeemer.
Have a great weekend!
Great list...great songs/videos! Our Redeemer is indeed faithful!
Have a blessed weekend!
I don't have time to watch all the video's but it sounds like you had a busy but nice week.
I'm over at your other post reading about Emily and Anne - and all the comments. Fun! I can't remember the quote but I'm guessing that it's Emily - I don't Anne realizes that she could possible come down with a thud - until she does. At least the younger Anne. The older Anne is much wiser. Not as fun - but much wiser.
(I just checked - I'm wrong - it is Anne - but at least it's the older Anne - I got that part right. What book is it in? Because I only watched the Movie sequel once - I didn't like it. And I wouldn't even think of watching the third movie - I would say it's sacriligious but then we're not talking religon are we? Are we? :)
For the record - I like Anne better than Emily. Emily is too dreamy - and the TV series were not so great in my opinion. Shot in an ugly spruce woods for one thing. What the heck?? No self-respecting Islander would build a house in the middle of a dying spruce woods. I'm assuming they picked that setting becuase it looks rather spooky and mysterious. Which I thought was a poor interpretation of Emily.
*Sigh*
Now - do you see what you've started??
*grin*
I love all your music choices - I'm going to favourite them in my youtube account. Thanks!
Blessings

Lovely list, Carrie!
I hope you have a lovely and peaceful "remembrance day" today.
something is wrong with my computer and i can't see the videos..so I will be back..have a great weekend! Great 5 by the way!
I'm coming back for the videos. This was such a lovely read! I love dreams and positive anticipations too. That's a very nice Montgomery quotation. Now colds begone!
Onward and upward towards a wonderful weekend and a fabulous future!!
Wow, what a wonderful list. I love the songs you included (some of my favorites!) You are blessed and you have blessed me today with your upbeat spirit and peacefulness. Blessings!
So sorry about you loss. I don't even know your story but my heart can feel a taste of your pain. I appreciated you list, and how you creatively placed music videos by each. Some of the songs I have not heard in ages. Lovely. ~
I always enjoy reading your Friday Fav lists so much. You always have some lovely insights to share and exceptional music to introduce me to.
This was a great FFF Carrie. God is faithful and the fullness of life he affords us is amazing. Friends, the beauty of creation, family, marriage, healing, comfort...we are blessed. Hope your weekend is relaxing and refreshing.
It's neat that you and your husband trade off and give each other time for outings with friends and such.
I would say I am normally not a fan of big changes -- but it is boring if everything stays the same, too. I do love the seasonal changes, and even life changes have their benefits in the long run.
All of these are great!
Carrie, this post was a real blessing. There is so much in it that really spoke to my heart as we are definitely in a different season that we are used to right now. Thanks for pointing me back to Him and away from me. :v)
Carrie, it's so interesting that you would put seasons of change for one of your favorites. You know, most people have to be drug kicking and screaming into a season of change! I always thought I loved change, until I had to give up something beloved! Now of course, I see it was for the best ....
I also read your post about Anne vs. Emily. I'm totally an "Anne" person!
“Time to just BE.” Yes, that is a blessing! And to have friends that can roll with the changes is a great thing. Glad you have learned so much through sorrowful times as well as happy times.

I'm so sorry for your losses. :~(
Wow, Carrie -- this was truly an inspiring FFF.
Losses and change are so hard to bear; they do, however, drive us to the One who loves us dearly, don't they?
I needed that reminder. Thanks, and happy weekend.
What a clever way to list your five and share some beautiful music too! I had the pleasure to see Steven Curtis Chapman at last year's Women of Faith conference -- he is such a dear man! And sings/writes some beautiful amazing songs!
So glad you and your hubby BOTH got to get out for some fun this week! That is SO important to do from time to time!
Loved reading about your week and how you integrate music. Music is so powerful!
Grace to you
