Friday Five Favs

First off, thanks to Suzanne at Living to Tell the Story for hosting this for us week after week! I hope you all had a fabulous Easter celebration!

You know, if you've been around here before, that I think Youtube is a fabulous thing. Mostly for the music. (I don't think I watch actual videos on it very often!)

At any rate, when I was growing up I used to work in a school supply store and the overhead radio station varied only slightly - from oldies to country music. I was listening to some of my old favorites this week on Youtube. Can you guess what some of my favorites are?

#1 - My all-time favorite is Earth Angel, sung by the Penguins:

#2 - I LOVED Herman's Hermits! I'm (back) into somethin' good....

Can I put two videos under this one? I never could 'EN-ERY' out of my head ...and now I can't again...

#3 - The Monkees. I doubt you'll find better haircuts anywhere!

I always though their introductory song was their best, personally.

#4 - Probably can't get away from oldies without mentioning the Beatles, so here is my favorite:

#5 - THE TEMPTATIONS!

Personally, I don't think Britney can hold a candle to this group!

I could go on and on listing my favorites but I'll reign myself in. I know some of you aren't video people but this week I just couldn't resist the fun of it. Music can be moving in so many ways and sometimes, well, it's just plain fun. Today I'm thankful for just plain FUN music!

"Baby, you're so sweet, you could have been some honey!"

Nobody quite expresses it quite like that these days, hmm?

Sticky and Sentimentally yours,

Carrie

Love the Temptations...but Ain't Too Proud to Beg and Can't Get Next to You are my faves.

As for the Monkees...Last Train to Clarksville was my favorite of theirs.

I loved Herman's Hermits and the Monkees when I was a teens.

Do they not have Chick-Fil-As in your area? :-)

Thanks for the smiles! I used to listen to an oldies station all the time; it was so much fun to play it loud and sing along in the car. :)

I remember listening to EN-ERY (and driving my mom crazy with the endless chorus) when I was a kid. Of course, the song wasn't quite an "oldie" at that time!

Thank you, too, for stopping by my blog and for praying.

I had no idea that first group was called the Penguins. LOL.

OK, now, I've got "En-ery" in my head and it's going to be there ALL DAY! Thanks :)

Beatles: St. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band was so much FUN!

Thanks for making us all smile today.

I had a terrible crush on Davy from the Monkees. I watched the show every week. And I know all the words to "I'm Henry the 8th I am"

Oh, what a trip down memory lane... even if I only really recognize the Monkeys ;-) Yes, YouTube is a fun place to rummage around isn't it?
