Perhaps it's just that I don't really want to bring the 2014 Lucy Maud Montgomery Reading Challenge to an end but it must be done.
It's been a very fun reading month for me and I hope the same is true for you.
These are the Montgomery titles I managed to squeeze in this month (all titles linked to my reviews):
1. Akin to Anne: A Collection of Short Stories
2. The Blue Castle
This read doubled as the January selection for the Reading to Know Classics Book Club. I know many of you read this particular title to participate in the book club and this is also the post wherein you can link up your reviews in the comment section for that. (Two for the price of one!)
3. Magic for Marigold
Some friends and I also were able to enjoy a bit of Anne with an Anne of Green Gables themed tea party.
My kids and I also began watching Season 1 of The Road to Avonlea. All of my kids LOVE it (delighting my heart, of course)! It's been very fun involving them in the challenge in this way.
Other posts about Montgomery from this month included:
- Lucy Maud and the Cavendish Cat - a picture book about L.M. Montgomery
- Information about the Lucy Maud Montgomery Literary Society
- Information about the Lucy Maud Montgomery Society of Ontario
I hope you've not only enjoyed your reading this month, but have learned a little bit more about Montgomery and her world in the process.
Did you read with us this month? Let us know in the comment section. If you have blog posts to link up please also leave them in the comment section.
Additionally, if you want to share a link to some interesting article that you read elsewhere online about Montgomery that you think the readers here would also enjoy hearing about, please do feel free to share!
Until next year . . .
I only was able to read The Blue Castle. I love your sign from you tea party.

I'm already excited for the 2015 challenge. :-)
I'm so thankful for the encouragement to read The Blue Castle. I found it delightful! (And also a little therapeutic, just sayin'.)

Like many others, I read just The Blue Castle this year--but I also managed to finish up one more piece for my Anne doll wardrobe. I posted a challenge conclusion post today with a link to my review of The Blue Castle and pictures of Anne's next dress :-)
ReplyDeleteI read The Blue Castle, too. This morning I am working on Anne of GG movie. :)

I read The Blue Castle this month and really enjoyed it. It was my first time reading it and I'm kind of bummed it took me this long to know it existed!
ReplyDeleteI read The Blue Castle and Anne of Avonlea. It was fun to revisit both of those books.

I'm going to participate in this next year, because I really want to read the Emily books. The L.M. Montgomery month sped past me this year (wonder why...)
ReplyDeleteI only read Kilmeny of the Orchard this time around.

I really loved this challenge. It's the first time I've ever participated. I read several books and watched a move. I blogged about it here:
